Lido Beach Weddings

Lido Beach Weddings are just another great beach area that Sarasota County has to offer.  Just a few miles North of Siesta Key, Lido Beach has a great beachfront.  Lido beach is an island connected to the mainland by the John Ringling Causeway.   Lido Beach has a mix of great beachfront resorts, hotels, and an array of condo rentals.  And, with the famous St. Armand's Circle - with a wide variety of eclectic restaurants, bars, and famous designer stores, there is plenty to do in Lido Beach.

Previously home to the Calusa and Paleo Indians, Lido Key was named by John Ringling after the word “beach” in Italian.  When Ringling bought beach front properties in the 1920s, he actually reshaped the island by moving vast amounts of sand.   A casino was built in the 1940's and was a favorite of musicians and celebrities who visited the Lido Beach Casino.  It was demolished in the 1960's after the building had deteriorated.  This area now has a large pool, snack bar, and covered picnic area that overlooks the Lido Beach public beach area.

Lido Beach is widely considered to be eco-friendly by tourists.  While not as popular as Siesta Key, this beach area is just as beautiful with the turquoise waters of the gulf of Mexico.  It is a favorite destination for tourists, who enjoy the quieter beach during the day, and the nightlife in the evening.

With fishing charters available nearby, evening cruises, and dolphin watch cruises, Lido Beach offers a variety of things to do when inviting your guests to this area.

If you will be having a Lido Beach Wedding, this island is part of Sarasota County and a beach wedding permit will be required on the public beach.  Some of the hotels do offer the use of the beach front, but you would need to obtain permission.  And, in some instances a large fee is charged for using their beach front.
